This means no physical modifications, no void warranties, and the freedom to choose whatever carrier you want.

They plan or releasing the unlock on New Year’s Eve (2008). I’ll wait and see how everyone else fairs with it before jumping in with both feet!

The unlock will require iPhone 3Gs that have 2.11.07 baseband or earlier and jailbroken.

Kevin Mitnick Web site hacked /illc0mm/2006/08/22/zmog_the_mitnick_gotz_owned/ /illc0mm/2006/08/22/zmog_the_mitnick_gotz_owned/#comments Tue, 22 Aug 2006 12:27:18 +0000 illc0mm /illc0mm/2006/08/22/zmog_the_mitnick_gotz_owned/ (via zone-h)

ZMOG!! THE MITNICK GOTZ

OWNED!!

Is what read on the front page on four of Kevin Mitnick’s websites (defensivethinking.com, mitsec.com, kevinmitnick.com, mitnicksecurity.com). The target of Pakistani vandals. Mitnick’s hosting provider is Hoestedhere.net, who appears to be running Apache 1.3.34 on Linux with PHP 4.4.1 and FrontPage 5.0.2.2635 extensions. No word yeat on what attack vector they used.

This isn’t the first time one of Kevin’s sites was hacked. On Thursday January 30th 2003 and on Sunday February 23 2003 Kevin’s defensivethinking.com was hacked using, of all things, a n easily exploitable vulnerability in FrontPage. While, not entirely his fault it’s pretty funny to see an ex-hacker turned security consultant get hacked.

The attacker, FBH, has a pretty impressive record of 2317 defacements of which 453 were single ip and 1864 were mass defacements, web hosting companies usually (from zone-h.org).

Here is the archive of the hack at zone-h.org.
